DWARF FOTHERGILLA
Description
Dwarf Fothergilla is an attractive shrub that is naturally dwarf. Native to the southeastern United States, it is one of the best shrubs for shaded areas. Bottlebrush-like clusters of fragrant white flowers bloom in late April-early May, and are a good nectar source for bees. Green, leathery leaves turn attractive shade of red, orange, and yellow in the fall. Use in foundation or border plantings, as well as natural gardens. Fothergilla can handle slightly acidic soils.
