KENTUCKY COFFEE TREE
Description
The native Kentucky Coffee Tree is a unique shade tree that tolerates a wide variety of soil conditions and drought once established. Clusters of small, cream flowers bloom in late spring to early summer. Female trees develop large, dark brown pods that hang on the tree well into the winter. Compound, medium-green leaves turn bright yellow in the fall. This tree has sparce branching when young, but it develops into a beautiful and adaptable shade tree.
