HOT ROD SWITCH GRASS
The blue-green blades of this switch grass turn a deep burgundy-red much earlier than any other of the switch grass varieties. Airy seed heads emerge late summer and are held above the foliage creating a frothy display. Switch grass can handle occasional wet situations and should be planted in full sun. It will flop in shadier sites. This grass provides a nice vertical element in winter as the foliage will stay tight and upright in form.
