ROYAL RED BUTTERFLY BUSH
Featuring extra-long panicles of fragrant, magenta-purple flowers and a relaxed habit, ‘Royal Red’ makes a great background plant for the cottage style garden. Developed in Ohio in 1942, it has since become beloved the world over, receiving the Award of Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society of Great Britain. Like all butterfly bushes, it will break dormancy late in the spring, then grow rapidly. Do not cut down in fall; cut back to new buds in early spring.
