VIRGINIA BLUEBELLS
Description
Grows best in shaded areas where the soil is cool, richly organic and moist but well-drained. Because Mertensia foliage dies back in the summer, plant it among perennials with spreading foliage, such as hosta or fern, so the die-back spaces will be less obvious. It is best when massed and left undisturbed to naturalize. Very easy to grow. A wonderful sign of spring!
