About Us
Over 150 years in business means we at Hinsdale Nurseries have exceptional knowledge of the Midwest region and what it takes to grow beautiful, hardy plants.
At our farm in Plano, Illinois, we maintain 650+ acres for the development, propagation, growth, and distribution of trees, ornamentals, evergreens, shrubs, and perennials. Throughout the growing season, our nursery is inspected by the Illinois Department of Agriculture to ensure that our nursery stock is free from diseases and pests.
Our Willowbrook garden center holds over 11 acres of locally-grown plant material for wholesale and retail purchase. Hinsdale Nurseries also offers complete landscape services, from consultation and design to installation, landscape maintenance, and seasonal color changes—both for garden beds and containers. We carry a broad selection of annuals, tropical plants, bulbs, mums, cabbage, kale, and winter greens. In addition to selling high-quality plant material, we also sell containers, stone, mulch, topsoil, garden mix, compost, timbers, straw, and peat moss.
Both growers and landscape designers—our products hold as much quality as our services do.
Our Roots
Our nursery was founded over 150 years ago as Littleford Nurseries. The same family who acquired it in 1936 has owned and operated it under the name Hinsdale Nurseries since. Willowbrook has been home to the main office for the last 90 years, the original farm was relocated to Yorkville, Illinois in 1977, and in 2006, the growing facility moved to Plano, Illinois.
