Allegheny Serviceberry is a beautiful native tree that is one of the parents for the popular Apple Serviceberry. Clusters of bright white flowers bloom in the spring. Leaves emerge copper and mature to medium green. Fall color is a mix of reds, oranges, and yellows. Flowers develop into edible purple fruits in June, and are loved by birds. Bark is smooth and gray. Serviceberry provides a larval food source for a variety of butterfly species. This is an excellent small tree for any size yard.
