Description

Grows in full sun and in ordinary soil, but will also handle heavy clay soil and moist to wet areas. Soil should be kept moist and not allowed to dry out. Some afternoon shade in hot summer climates is appreciated. The flower plumes rise above the foliage to about 4 feet, but tend to disintegrate in early winter. It is an excellent grass for showy flowers in late summer and autumn, for groupings, or in moist locations such as low spots or along streams or ponds. Deer resistant.
