PINK PROFUSION PHLOX
Description
Developed by Jim Ault at the Chicago Botanic Gardens, this phlox is a hybrid of a subulata (moss phlox) and stolonifera (creeping phlox). Flowers are relatively large for a phlox, measuring up to 1-1/4″ wide and completely hiding the foliage when in peak bloom. Each deep purplish-pink flower has a reddish-purple eye surrounded by a white halo. Best performance is in full sun, with well-drained, organically rich soil. May develop mildew in shadier sites. Can go dormant in very hot summers.
