MARSH BLAZING STAR
Description
Marsh Blazing Star is an Illinois native to moist prairies and wetlands. Spikes of pink-purple flowerheads bloom from the top-down. These flowers are attractive to butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees. Seedheads fluff up, and are a good food source for Goldfinches and other birds. Marsh Blazing Star can tolerate drought and clay soils once established, and is low-maintenance. Use with Cardinal Flower and Swamp milkweed in a wet spot in the yard.
