ENDLESS SUMMER HYDRANGEA
Description
This popular hydrangea needs adequate moisture to perform well. Large clusters of pink flowers have a long blooming period in the summer. Acidic soil conditions are needed for the flowers to become blue. Deep green leaves turn red-purple in the fall. Does best in an area with morning sun and afternoon shade. It is not drought tolerant. Endless summer will bloom on old and new wood although it is not uncommon for buds on old wood to be killed off in Chicago winters. Cut back in early spring to live buds.
