GREAT BLUE CARDINAL FLOWER
Description
This native perennial provides late summer bloom in the woodland garden or sunny border. It is also effective near ponds or streams. Long lasting spikes of bright blue flowers are held atop clumps of dark green, lance-shaped foliage. The tubular flowers are crowded together on the upper stem, providing a great vertical element to the landscape. Lobelia are best in moist to wet soils with filtered shade or full sun. It can reseed to form colonies when happily sited, so deadhead plants if this is not desired.
