SCALLYWAG HOLLY
Description
Scallywag is an improved holly variety boasting a very dense, rounded form with shiny, dark green foliage. Although the toothed leaves look ominous, the edges are actually soft. Foliage takes on purple-burgundy tones in fall and winter. This is a male holly, so it will not produce berries, but will act as a pollinator for other I. meserveae varieties. Holly plants will do best in rich, acidic soils that are kept evenly moist and are well-drained. Minimal pruning is required to maintain shape.
