APPLE SERVICEBERRY
Description
Apple Serviceberry is a large, graceful tree with four season interest. It is a native hybrid between the Allegheny and Downy Serviceberries. Clusters of bright white flowers bloom in the spring. Medium-green leaves turn attractive shades of red and orange in the fall. Flowers develop into edible purple fruits that are loved by birds. Smooth gray bark and irregular growth habit add winter interest. Serviceberry is a larval food source for a variety of butterflies. A great tree for any size yard.
