FT. MCNAIR HORSECHESTNUT
Description
Fort McNair is a hybrid between the European Horsechestnut and the Red Buckeye. Showy panicles of red-pink flowers bloom in the spring after the tree leafs out. Large, deep green leaves are palmate and keep their color into the fall. The shiny brown nuts are not edible. Fort McNair is a beautiful yet, underused shade tree.
