ROSE OF SHARON PURPLE
Description
Rose of Sharon is a wonderfully reliable plant providing continuous blooms at the end of the summer. The large, showy, purple flowers cover this deep green plant from August through September. Rose of Sharons will tolerate poor soils and some shade, however, to ensure the most blooms, plant in rich, moist, well-draining soils with full sun exposure. Dense, upright growth will take a vase-shaped form making this a lovely specimen for the landscape. Blooms on new wood, so prune to shape in late spring.
