Description

This cultivar of the highly adaptable Common Hackberry is a good replacement for ash trees. It can tolerate a wide variety of soil conditons, drought, wet, air pollution, and hot, dry conditions. It is a fast-growing tree that develops a rounded crown. Leaves turn light yellow in the fall. Fruits are a purple drupe that develop in the fall, and are attractive to birds. A good city tree with good branching and interesting bark. Perfoms well under adverse conditions. A food source for butterfly larvae.
