CLUMP RED MAPLE
Description
This native maple is an adaptable tree, but prefers moist, slightly acidic soil. It can tolerate drought and clay soils once established. Small red flower clusters bloom in early spring, and ripen into red samaras. Deep green leaves turn red-orange in the fall. It has a faster growth rate than Norway or Sugar Maples. The clump form serves as a lovely screening or a backdrop for other plantings.
