SHADBLOW SERVICEBERRY
Description
Shadblow Serviceberry is a native small tree/large shrub that has good year round interest. Reddish-purple flower buds open to form clusters of white blooms in the spring. These ripen into edible purple fruits that are a magnet for birds in June. Deep green leaves turn shades of yellow and orange in the fall. Serviceberry is a larval food source for a variety of butterfly species. An excellent ornamental that is great for a smaller landscape.
