WHITE PINE
Description
White Pine is our largest native and fastest-growing conifer in Illinois and much of the northeastern U.S. It is a very hardy and adaptable pine to our soils and climate. It has a pyramidal growth pattern when young, and the crown becomes more open with age. Soft, bright green needles have good color retention throughout the year. Previous years’ needles shed in the fall. It is a great conifer to use as a specimen or in groupings in a large area.
