TURKISH FILBERT
Description
A handsome shade tree, Turkish Filbert has a formal look when mature. It is tolerant of drought, heat, and poor soils once established. Catkins bloom in early spring, and are followed by deep green leaves. Nuts develop in late summer and early fall. Leaves turn yellow in the fall. Bark has a corky texture to it as it ages. An excellent shade tree for lawns and streets.
